Embracing Imperfection

This is one beautiful story that I came accross. Please take time to read this...

"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!

When I got Up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad For burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.'

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, 'Debbie, your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!'

You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or cook.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today
that you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life. We could extend this to any relationship in fact - as understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!! "

The day's Toast ;)

My day was good !!!
Had a good nights sleep and woke up late...
It started off smooth and good.
Guess what. I grabbed two Giorgio Armani pants this afternoon.
One in black and another in brown. They fit so good on me.
I love that brand. Well, most of them will surely do.
Now that I'm talking about that big brand, I'd also like to throw light
on the following.
The Armani line is always accompanied by a Certificato Di Autenticita.
It is in Italian in all US retail stores including Armani Exchange.
The embossed Giorgio Armani name can be seen when tilting the label.
Note the absence of this label on the fake pair (quite obvious).

After which I had to attend my CAT prep class.
It went pretty good, and the evening turned out to be a joyful one
too..

Google - overgrown ???

If you use Google for your Web searching and are noticing that the text now appears a tad larger than usual, you’re not seeing things. The search giant recently supersized its search box to make finding that latest viral video even easier. Both the search box itself and the accompanying text and search suggestions located below the box have received the treatment. Needless to say, for those of us who glare at monitors for the majority of the day (not to mention those of us getting up there in age), the additional pixels are a most-welcome addition.

But I simply dont like it. It looks too big and seems to be needless for an user how sits right in front of the monitor. “SMALL is beautiful,” wrote the economist E. F. Schumacher almost 35 years ago. Now google is doing to its bay, everthing the other way. Is this gonna work ???

Sweet smell of success ;)

Yay!!!
I'm very happy to say that, I've won the SAE India's business
plan competition tier II level.
It sure feels good to be placed on the top spot. Yeah, we bagged
the first place when thus have qualified for the nationals, or do
I have to say, To Win the nationals ;)
That sure sounds good, and that's exactly what I need to do, with
my team.
The tier II event was conducted in MNM Jain College, Chennai.
The chief guest was a person with loads of credentials.
His experience and expertise were made good use of, by a good
lot of industries, including SAIL for the purpose of recruitment
in the selection panel.
At present, he is with UCOL as Vice President H.R.
We were told that the nationals is to be held on the first week
of October.
My mobile ran out of battery charge and I thus wasn't in a position
to share the happy news to my friends (immediately)...
The day turned out to be fruitful. :) :) :)
That's the way the days has been... really good ;) :)

Endangered Species- Heal the world

When a man wants to murder a tiger, he calls it sport.
when the tiger wants to murder him, he calls it ferocity.
The distinction between crime and justice is no greater.
-George Bernard Shaw

Common Name:
Giant panda
Scientific Name: Ailuropoda melanoleuca
Location: Southwest China (Gansu, Shaanxi, and Sichuan Provinces)
to the east of the Tibetan plateau.
Population: Less than 2,500 mature in the wild.

The giant panda is the rarest member of the bear family and among the world’s most threatened animals. It is universally loved, and has a special significance for WWF as it has been the organization's logo since 1961, the year WWF was founded.

Today, the giant panda's future remains uncertain. As China's economy continues rapidly developing, this bamboo-eating member of the bear family faces a number of threats. Its forest habitat, in the mountainous areas of southwest China, is increasingly fragmented by roads and railroads. Habitat loss continues to occur outside of protected areas, while poaching remains an ever-present threat.

Great strides have been made in recent years to conserve the giant pandas. By 2005, the Chinese government had established over 50 panda reserves, protecting more than 2.5 million acres - over 45 percent of remaining giant panda habitat – protecting more than 60 percent of the population.

In 1984, the giant panda was transferred from Appendix III to Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) . Trade in the species or its products are subject to strict regulation by the ratifying parties, and trade for primarily commercial purposes is banned.

There are over 1000 endangered animal species worldwide.
They are disappearing due to habitat loss, poaching and the
introduction of non-native species.
Thousands of species could be gone forever...
All because of one species... We humans...
Has the whole of the humankind been kind to these wonderful
animals ???
Isn't it time we did something about it ???
Protect wildlife... Heal the world!!!

The day's Toast ;)

Lazy and boring start... yet a joyful close ;)

My day had a truly lazy start, lazy enough for me to have
almost missed my college bus. Well, from the positive out look
my start was fast enough for me to board my bus just in time.
Classes were decent enough and thus paced the day. Noon saw
the brightening and the responsive delight brimming me.
The evening was good. We came back in the college' Volvo
bus.
I reached home and snacked a lot, ;) just like any other day.
The evening was fully loaded with me roaming around,
meeting new people and stuff.
In short, the day turned out to be a good one ;) :) :)

The day's Toast ;)

I understand that it's been a very long time since I've blogged.
Been a lot busy and things had pushed me off my blogging
boundaries. I wonder how it all happened.
From the times which saw multiple posts a day to times when
i simply couldn't post anything.
To all my visitors who kept visiting my blog expected to see
a post or at least an update from me...
SORRY PALS !!!

Hoping, the pic says it all ;)

Well, that's that. and now that I've started blogging...
I just wanna say... I'm BACK!!!
I came across a few really good videos...
I felt that I should share it with you all. It is quite probable for
you to have seen it, considering the popularity of this video.
If not, watch it, enjoy it, and slip in your comments. :)

This weekend had been really productive.
My CAT prep class was very useful. Things seem to be getting
very effective by the day. With the ticking second playing its
good part on mine, I was happy to look turn around and say,
not bad, it indeed was a fruitful day ;)
I happen to meet a student of IIM-A :)
I now have someone with some real experience, to tell how life is
after graduating from of THE best b school of the country.
I must say, I did get to know a lot of people(new) in the last few
weeks :)
What else, tough times, crampy times, mistakes, blunders,
wonders, effectiveness, productive utility, new friends, new intros,
Bigger and wider friends network and on...
The past few weeks have been loaded with lots and lots of
interesting stuff.
I've got lots of things planned for the week ahead.
The SAE tier II business plan competition is fast approaching.
It's scheduled to be on 10th of this month. I need to get prepared
to register a win.
With lots of plans, I look forth for a brighter and fun filled day :) :) :)
